Gabriella Luchini’s work begins with the stone. The ones with unexpected colour, strange inclusions, irregular shapes and qualities that cannot be precisely repeated. Rather than asking a gemstone to fit a predetermined design, each piece is built around what makes that particular stone interesting.
Gabriella is a jeweller and FGAA qualified gemmologist who has spent more than a decade working with gemstones and precious metals. Her background in interior architecture continues to shape the way she approaches proportion and structure.
Traditional hand fabrication is combined with an experimental approach to colour, texture and form. The result is jewellery that feels sculptural, tactile and a little strange, in the best possible way.
From her studio in Sydney, she creates one-of-one pieces, alternative engagement rings and custom jewellery of all kinds, including remodelling and heirloom redesigns.
Jewellery is made to be worn, marked and lived with. To gather meaning over time and reveal something about the person who chose it. To feel unmistakably yours and perhaps one day become someone else’s.
Her work is for people who were never interested in the obvious choice.
