I like an engagement ring with a bit of attitude. One you would have chosen for yourself, proposal or not.
For some people that means a chunky signet. For others it’s a sapphire in an unexpected colour, a band that refuses to sit perfectly straight, or a stone with so much character you can’t imagine choosing anything else.
Here are a few places to start.
The Ritual Union Signet Ring
A signet with real presence. The ring pictured is made in yellow gold around a bi coloured Ceylonese sapphire that moves between blue and pale yellow as the light changes. Each one is made around its own stone, so yours could take on a completely different colour and personality.
The Terrain Signet
If you like jewellery that looks as though it might have been dug up somewhere interesting, meet Terrain. Its hand textured surface and low set stone give it an ancient feeling, while the shape is comfortable enough to become part of your everyday life. It can be made with a sapphire, diamond or another stone we choose together.
The Current Ring
A curve of gold and diamonds that moves around the finger. Current can be made as a band or with a centre stone nestled into the shape. It’s for someone who likes a little softness without everything being symmetrical.
These are all part of Ritual Union, my core collection of alternative engagement rings and ceremonial jewellery. I make each piece in Sydney, working with natural gemstones, precious metals and the person who will actually wear it.
If you’ve seen something here that feels close, we can begin with that design and make it yours.
